10 Naxalites with a bounty of Rs. 65 lakh surrender and return to the mainstream
“Environment of trust, security and lasting peace is taking shape in Bastar” — CM Shri Vishnu Deo Sai
Raipur, November 28, 2025 — Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the “Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy 2025” and the “Poona Margham: Rehabilitation for Social Integration” initiative have created an environment of “trust, security and lasting peace” in Bastar, paving the way for transformative change in the region.
The Chief Minister stated that many individuals once trapped in the Maoist network are now turning away from violence and choosing the path of development and mainstream life. In this context, ten Naxalites—carrying a combined bounty of Rs. 65 lakh, including Chaitu alias Shyam Dada of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee with a bounty of Rs. 25 lakh—have surrendered on November 28. CM Shri Sai described this as “clear evidence of a changing Bastar and the effectiveness of government policies”.
CM Shri Sai affirmed that, in consonance with the government’s commitment, all surrendered individuals will receive the necessary rehabilitation support to ensure a “safe, dignified and self-reliant life”. He noted that the rising number of surrenders reflects the growing public trust in government initiatives and Bastar’s rapid progress towards “peace, confidence and development”.
The Chief Minister said this outcome represents the combined effect of the state’s “strategic approach, consistent policing efforts and deepening public trust”. He described the latest surrenders as a significant milestone in maintaining lasting peace in Bastar.
