SECL achieved a growth of 20 million tons above 25 million tons for two consecutive years and created new records in production, dispatch and OBR

SECL family bid farewell to Chairman cum Managing Director Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra, who retired after from Coal India / SECL on 31.01.2025 after an illustrious career of more than 37 years.


In his address, CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra said that today is a day of thanksgiving for me. I express my heartfelt gratitude to SECL for giving a person who started as a JET in SECL, the opportunity to work at the highest post of the company – CMD. He said that whatever contribution you all have made to take SECL to the pinnacle of excellence, whatever work you have done with a spirit of dedication, you all deserve a big thank you.

Director Technical (Operations & P&P) Shri N Franklin Jaikumar said that the best way to thank CMD Dr Mishra for his contribution and glorious tenure would be that all of us take his mission and vision forward and follow the path shown by him.

Director (Personnel) Shri Biranchi Das said in his address that CMD Dr Prem Sagar Mishra has made an invaluable contribution to the coal industry and SECL. His wife Mrs Poonam Mishra has also played an important role in Sir’s journey.

Director (Finance) Shri D. Sunil Kumar said that I got the opportunity to work with Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra for 6 months, which is invaluable for me. I got to learn a lot under his guidance and he is one of the best CEO I got the chance to work with.

On this occasion, CVO Shri Himanshu Jain said that CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra has made an invaluable contribution in establishing SECL as a strong company, and he’ll be remembered in the years to come.

In her address, Shraddha Mahila Mandal President and first lady of SECL Smt. Poonam Mishra shared every moment spent in SECL with an open heart and thanked everyone for the respect given by SECL and wished for the progressive progress of the company and the employees.

While addressing the gathering, Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra’s younger son Mr. Pratik Sagar Mishra said that Papa’s tenure was full of many engagements but he always took out time for his family.

Former directors of CIL and SECL, steering committee members and union representativessaid in their respective addresses that Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra is an epitome of efficiency, a wealth of knowledge, one of the best CEO of the corporate world. Everyone can learn from him how to achieve their goals with hard work and dedication.
